Global Instruments, a U.S.-based electronics manufacturing solutions provider, today announced that Delta Electronics has completed the full acquisition of Global Instruments, becoming a new member of its industrial automation division. As a global leader in smart energy solutions, Delta Electronics provides smart energy solutions for electric vehicles, ICT and energy infrastructure, as well as smart buildings and factories.
Strong collaboration provides advanced automation solutions for intelligent manufacturers
Delta Electronics' Industrial Automation division has been in the field of high-efficiency power electronics for more than 50 years, with strong core competitiveness, sales, research and development and production sites on five continents, providing industrial automation products and solutions, including electronics manufacturing and many other industries. Global Instruments has been providing precision automation solutions for advanced, high-precision and multi-process applications for the semiconductor and electronics assembly industry for more than 100 years.
Upon completion of the acquisition, Global Instruments will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Electronics and continue to operate under its existing management team, but the two parties will be able to leverage each other's R&D capabilities and global customer base to further provide the electronics industry with more comprehensive and advanced intelligent manufacturing capabilities, creating significant synergies for the enterprise.
Jean-Luc Pelissier, CEO of Global Instruments, said Delta could help Global Instruments increase its position in the U.S. and global markets and accelerate Global Instruments' growth. "Delta has been a long-time customer and partner of Global Instruments, and we are proud to be part of the Delta family," he said. He continued, "Delta's scale of global operations, exceptional strength in smart manufacturing, and deep understanding of the automation needs of the electronics industry will help drive Global Instruments' technological development and operational goals." By combining Delta's strengths, Global Instruments will be able to expand its business scale, expand its global market reach, and expand its supply chain and manufacturing base to benefit all customers.
Headquartered in Conklin, New York, Global Instruments is an industry leader in research and innovation, with more than 500 patents in the field of automation to date and nearly 30,000 automated production equipment for customers around the world. Global Instruments has been manufacturing insertion machines for IBM since the 1960s, and with the proven technology of its advanced process laboratories, it has evolved into a supplier of comprehensive advanced semiconductor, precision automation and printed circuit board assembly solutions.
"Global Instruments has established an excellent reputation in the electronics manufacturing industry and a solid long-term customer base, which is the direction that Delta Electronics Industrial Automation is actively expanding." "Global Instruments' accumulated core technology and precision equipment, combined with Delta's existing automation equipment capabilities, will provide customers in the electronics assembly industry with a more complete solution, introducing energy-efficient production lines and increasing production capacity at the same time," said Ping Cheng, CEO of Delta Electronics. He pointed out that Global Instruments' rich experience in the development of standardized automation equipment can strengthen the process and speed of Delta's related product development, and stabilize Delta's footsteps on the road to the next generation of intelligent manufacturing.
