Material jamming, in simple terms, means that when Feida is feeding materials, the material tape cannot pass smoothly, and the components cannot be delivered to the placement head position on time, causing the machine to alarm and stop. The manifestations of material jamming may be that the material tape is stuck, components are piled up, the tape is broken or the feeding is discontinuous.
This is one of the most common reasons. If the tension of the material tape is too loose, it is prone to deviation, resulting in incorrect component positions or even getting stuck on the guide rail. If the tension is too tight, the feeding will not be smooth and the Feida gear will have difficulty rotating.
2. The feida gears or guide rails are clogged with dirt
The gears and guide rails of Feida are the key parts for feeding materials. Once dust, debris and oil stains accumulate, it is easy for the material belt to get stuck.
Sometimes when purchasing or changing materials, if the width or thickness of the material tape does not meet the specifications of the feeder, for instance, using the wrong 8mm material tape and putting it into a 12mm feeder, or if the material tape is too hard or too soft, it may lead to material jamming.
The spring inside the Feida is the key component that provides tension for the feeding belt, while the baffle is responsible for positioning the elements. Loose, deformed or broken springs, as well as damaged stoppers, can all lead to loss of control over feeding and a significant increase in the probability of material jamming.
If the feeder is not inserted tightly, or if the feeder interface is dirty or has poor contact, the machine cannot accurately read the feeder's status, resulting in feeding errors or even material jamming.
6. Abnormal arrangement or damage of components in the material tape
If the components in the material belt are not neatly arranged or have defects themselves, the feeder is also prone to getting stuck when feeding materials.
